Humic acids (HA) are high molecular weight, polydisperse, multifunctional natural organic compounds. They are formed from plant residues in different natural environments as a result of a long process of humification.
Until recently, commercial humic fertilizers were produced either as liquids, or as powders, with varying degrees of humidity (rarely with more than 20% humic acid content).
Liquid Humic Fertilizers are a concentrated solution of humates (potassium, sodium, less frequently ammonium salts of humic acids), obtained by a prolonged alkaline extraction at heating for 2-24 hours from the raw materials: peat; lignite and coal; vermicompost, sapropel, waste from wood and pulp industry. The resulting solutions have a highly alkaline reaction (pH ranging from 9 to 14).
This method of production has been present for over 50 years, and today, it’s most popular. The main advantage of liquid humic fertilizers is that HA content is at its most active and bio-available state.
It is a soil amendment made from peat, using cavitation and fine grinding without any chemicals used in the production process. The resulting product is a peat gel. Humic Land’s dispersion medium is water, which permits a constant neutral pH ranging between 5 and 7.
This process gives Humic Land’s high concentration of HA and FA (Fulvic Acid); in the form of individual particles, (molecular associations), of 38% HA and 18% FA.
Contrary to Liquid Humic Acids, which offer the most active and bio-available state of HA at the time of use, followed with a sharp decline in vegetation stimulation, Humic Land gel offers the soil smaller levels of active/dissolved HA substances (9%). The active surfactants, HA and FA, reduce the surface tension of aqueous solutions, increasing the permeability of the cell membranes. It optimizes the capacity of the transport system of the plants, which accelerates the movement of nutrients. This acceleration has a direct effect on the plant’s metabolism. The rate of photosynthesis and the synthesis of chlorophyll over a more prolonged and continued period.
Humic Land is particularly efficient in sandy and clay soils with low humus content, on calcareous, saline or acidic sod-podzolic soil. Humic Land also works in hydroponic applications. Depending on the type of soil, Humic Land has a revitalizing and normalizing effect on a variety of soil characteristics.
On light sandy soils, it supports the formation of lumpy-granular structures. The creation of gels in the soil increases water retention capacity, restores their natural physical and chemical compositions, thus Humic Land significantly increases the fertility of plowed and structureless soil. Humic Land colors light soils with a dark color, which promotes the absorption and accumulation of solar energy in the soil, crucial for regions with a cold and temperate climate.
On heavy clay soils, Humic Land promotes soil loosening, which increases gas and water permeability of the earth, facilitating breathing and development of plant roots.
Humic Land significantly increases the microbiological activity in the soil. In particular, actinomycetes who become noticeably more active from the decomposing organic residues; the movement of nitrogen-fixing, ammonifiers, butyric acid bacteria, become observable; and the number of bacteria that promote hydrolyzation of inorganic phosphorous into soluble form increase. It enhances the activity of microorganisms that contribute to the decomposition of toxins produced using pesticides or discharged by machinery due to the combustion of fuel, in turn, activating the enzyme activity of the soil.
The general application is 1 gallon of Humic Land per 250 gallons of water per 9.5 acres. Humic Land can be used directly in the soil or as a foliar application. Humic Land benefits your soil from conditioning to blooming.
