Cocofil is a natural asphalt (asphaltite) which is mined in Colombia. It shares many characteristics to natural asphalt found in the USA, with slightly different composition due to geographic variations. It comes in a powder which can be ground to different fineness, depending on end-use. It is used as a pigment in inks, as a drilling fluid or oil-well cementing additive, in paints and coatings, and as an asphalt modifier.
